Back at It!

It's been a week since my last post.  Last week I was in the Gift of Christmas at Prestonwood Baptist Church.  Between Rehearsals and 7 SOLD OUT Performances I was gone every night.  When I was home I felt it was important to spend time with the family instead of working out.  I stayed on my Great Advocare products but I did not have time for P90X.  I am REALLY Looking Forward to the Can you 24 Series!  I am ready to get after it!

Performance Elite Day 8

Busy week.  I am in the Gift of Christmas at Prestonwood Baptist Church.  Late night rehearsals started Sunday and every night this week.  This week will be full and work is busy too.  I won't have time for every workout this week.  Can't wait for hose 24 minute workouts.

Today I woke up at 4:20 and took O2 Gold and Muscle Strength and Spark
5:00am I had a Pro20 and Catalyst
Did P90X Core Synergistics.  It's a great workout.
Post workout I had a Rehydrate Gel and a Vanilla Post Workout Recovery Shake
7:30am Leptilean
8:15am - Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake, Omegaplex
Noon - Advocare Meal Replacement Bar
3:30pm - Catalyst
4:45pm - Fruit Punch Spark
5:15pm - Chicken Fajitas on Corn Tortillas
Bedtime after midnight - Nighttime recovery

Performance Elite Day 5

I hope today is the last Day of this Cold.  I have battled for a few days and I'm ready for it to take a hike.

Today was Shoulders and Back and Ab Ripper on P90X.  While P90X is a good intense workout I am very EXCITED about the New AdvoCare 24 for 72 Workout DVD's.  Today's workout on P90X was an hour and fifteen minutes.  I had to skip part of the workout.  Can't wait to get the videos and add to my next 24 Day Challenge!

6:30am - Took O2 Gold and Muscle Strength with Spark
7:15am - Pro20 and Catalyst
7:30am - Workout for a little over an hour
8:35am - Vanilla Post Workout Recovery Shake - I sure do like the Vanilla!
12:00pm - Lunch - Special meal - Grilled Cheese with Pork on the sandwich.  Yes I had fries! oops!
3:00pm - Snack - Pro20
6:00pm - Dinner - Chicken Tenders and Fries.  Again not a part of the diet.  All this working out makes me think I can eat like I used to.  I did regret it afterwards.
9:30pm - Had to work off that food - I previewed Kenpo X, tomorrow's P90X workout.  I did a little more than half of it.  I like the Kenpo X.

Tonight I am going to try Sleep Works and hopefully a good nights sleep will lose this cold!

Performance Elite Day 4

Well today was not  ideal.  I have been battling a cold and today it whipped me.  I woke up early but decided to get a little extra rest.  I delayed my workout until 8:00am.
I had a warm Mandarin Orange Spark and took O2 Gold at 7am.  I also took some Dayquil.
At 7:45am I took my Catalyst and Pro20.
Today's P90X workout was Yoga and it was an hour and a half workout.   Due to time I only did 30 minutes.  Yoga's okay but I was underwhelmed.  I agree it is a workout but it was not my favorite.
After my workout I had the Vanilla Post Workout Recovery Shake for the first time...AWESOME!  I also took some CitriZinc and Omegaplex.
Work was busy and I missed a morning snack.
Business Lunch at Mexican food place.  I had Tamales and way too many Chips.
3pm - Fruit Punch Spark and Catalyst
6pm - Dinner Grilled Chicken, Green Beans and Corn - Took Omegaplex and Joint Promotion

Winding down for the night.  I took some ImmunoGuard after Dinner. Not a PE Challenge product but it is a great product from the Well line.  Will take Nighttime Recovery and head to bed!

7:45am - Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes, and Bacon and V100 Tropical Chews
11am - Mixed Nuts
12:15pm - Spinach Salad with Chicken and Tomato Soup
3:00pm - 3 Catalyst and Mixed nuts
6pm - Grilled Chicken, corn and green beans 2 Omegaplex and Joint Promotion

Will take nighttime recovery and go to bed shortly!

Tuesdays will start at 5am.
Today I got up and mixed Crushed O2 Gold in My Muscle Fuel/Rehydrate and had a Pro 20.
Did P90X day 2 - Cardio X
Took Catalyst and Post Workout Recovery Shake
Had Breakfast at 8:15 - Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake, Joint Promotion and 2 V100 Tropical Chews.
I am taking the V100 instead of MNS during the Performance Elite Challenge.
At 10:30am I had some Almonds and water.
Lunch at Noon at Corner Bakery - Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad and Tomato Basil Soup
Mid Afternoon - Catalyst, Goldfish and Spark
Dinner - Spaghetti. I had 4 Oreos for dessert.  OOPS. Also took 2 Omegaplex and Joint Promotion
Will take Nighttime Recovery tonight.

Great Results on our 4th 24 Day Challenge

Our 4th 24 Day Challenge was a GREAT Success!

I announced yesterday that I lost 10 lbs but I was NOT the Biggest Loser in our House.  Shana beat me out losing 11 lbs!!  This is a team effort!  The 24 day challenge is helping us both lose weight and inches.  Shopping for new clothes is becoming a major priority!

So Proud of my bride and grateful to be making this change together!

Day 19, 20, and 21 Update

Well I have been away from the computer quite a bit the last few days.  Here is a quick update.

Day 19
Friday we went to the State Fair of Texas.  We did go off diet but not like we used too.  The desire to eat that much fried food is pretty much gone.  We tried the Fried Red Velvet Cupcake, Fried Grilled Cheese, and the family split a funnel cake.  It was a memorable trip to the State Fair as Big Tex burned down before we got there.  On the positive side we did walk about 4 miles!

Day 20
Woke up and had a Pro 20, O2 Gold, Spark and 3 Catalyst
I then set out for a 5 mile run with the goal to run at a 9-10 minute per mile pace.  I ended up running 6.56 miles in 1:01:27 which equals a 9:21 per mile pace!  I felt great the whole time and I could have kept going.  During the run I had a Rehydrate Gel.  After the run I took my MNS Packets and had another Pro 20 for recovery.
For an AM Snack I had a Holiday Advobar.
Lunch - I had a Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake
Missed my afternoon Spark and Snack but I did have an Ocean Water at Sonic.
Dinner at Eatzi's - I had 3 plain Brisket Tacos on Corn Tortillas
It was a great day!

Day 21
Today was a pretty normal routine.
Breakfast was a Chocolate Mocha Meal Replacement Shake
Lunch was the Spinach Crisp Salad and Tomato Basil Cup at Corner Bakery.
For Dinner Shana made Turkey Chili.  It was great!
Looking forward to finishing the last 3 days strong.  After the Challenge I am starting the Performance Elite Challenge to begin building muscle!

5:00pm - Melt in Your Mouth Chicken - Shana found on Pinterest - Baked Chicken, Greek Yogurt, Garlic and Parmesean Cheese, Green Beans and corn

Day 16 and 17 update

Man, these days are flying and I have gotten away from daily blog time!

Tuesday started with a great run and a full day of work, soccer practice, and topped off with a Mixer at the home of Todd and Donna Cash.  I learned to make a Hot Spark Cider!  This will be good this winter.

Here is what I know!  Advocare has products for those that need to lose weight and those that just want to be healthy and feel their best.
Spark has helped me eliminate Soft Drinks from my diet.
Omegaplex provides the Omega 3 fatty acids we DO NOT get in our diets today.
Each of the MNS products do what they say they do.
Top nutrition and total wellness that has changed my life!

It was great to talk with some great folks who are learning to lead others in changing their lives and impacting others.

Today, started with little old me leading boot camp.  BOOM!  Yes that is my head exploding.  If you would have told me that I would e active in attending and occasionally leading a boot camp at 5:30am, I would have said you were CRAZY!  I appreciate Travis Noble and my friends that work hard together!

Today's lunch was a Holiday Advobar and Almonds.
For Dinner, I had a burrito bowl at Chipotle.

Looking forward to a good run tomorrow morning.  Got to take my Pro 20 and O2 Gold!!!

Day 14 and 15 Update

Okay so Sunday was a good day.  MNS C continues to have a great impact on my appetite.  We had a celebratory lunch with Ethan as he went forward at Church to profess Jesus as his Savior!  He Chose Blue Goose!  I think we have eaten there 3 times in the last 10 days.  I had my Taco Meal but I did eat a little queso and a few too many chips!

Today I started off with, Catalyst a Mandarin Orange Spark and a PRO 20.
Went to Bootcamp
MNS C and Thermoplus 30 minutes before breakfast
Breakfast - Chocolate Mocha MRS, 2 MNS C Packets
AM Snack - Almonds
Lunch - Kind Chocolate Peanut Almond Snack Bar
PM Snack - 3 Catalyst 15 mins later Fruit Punch Spark and Almonds
Dinner - Chicken Fajitas - Black Beans, Grilled Chicken, Whole Wheat Tortillas

Day 12 and 13 update

I have been away from the computer the last 2 days so updates did not happen.

Friday started off with Spark and Bootcamp.
The MNS C does reduce appetite but I did lack discipline at dinner.  I ordered a Turkey, Bacon, Ranch Sandwich at Firehouse.  I did get it on Whole Wheat but the Bacon and Ranch were not the best choice.  Oh and I also ordered potato chips.
The thing I love is that this is not a diet.  We stay 90% on the plan and let the great nutritional supplements and the great food make the difference.

Today was a busy day.  Started off with a Chocolate Mocha Meal Replacement Shake.  I did have a Holiday Advobar instead of the sweet treats at Choir camp.  Lunch was natural peanut butter on rice cakes.

I weighed in this morning at 190.8  Down 8 lbs since the beginning of the challenge!  4lbs away from my goal of 60lbs.  The Metabollic Nutritional System is great.  I am using the MNS C, Appetite Control and it was very effective today!

Attended a Men's Bible Study in this morning with my friend Bill Senkel.  It was a great start to the morning! I did miss my boot camp peeps!

Went for a 5 mile run. Had a Rehydrate Gel after running.

Lunch - Chipotle Bowl - Chicken, Black Beans, and a half a spoon of brown rice - the rice is off diet
PM Snack - Citrus Spark, 3 Catalyst, and some peanuts
Dinner - Crock Pot Chicken Tacos, Corn Tortillas- off the diet again...oops
Soccer Practice - then I got hungry so I had a rice cake with peanut butter

It was a great day.  Lunch and dinner were very similar but it was good both times.

AM Snack - I took 1/2 a Holiday AdvoBar with me to church and ate it between church and Sunday School.
When I left church I had 1 Thermoplus and 2 LeptiLean, I knew I was about to go off diet.
Lunch at Blue Goose - Again I had my new favorite the Mini Tacos - Steak and Pork....but I also had some chips and queso.  That was off the plan.  But the beauty of the 24 Day Challenge is that we try to stay 90% on plan during the challenge.
PM Snack - Fruit Punch Spark and 3 Catalyst....but I never ate a snack, just realized that.  Guess I wasn't hungry thanks to LeptiLean and a bigger lunch than I should have had.
Dinner - Steak Salad - Steak, Spinach, and Raspberry Vinegarette Dressing. 2 Omegaplex
Bedtime - Herbal Cleanse Tablets

Tomorrow we are back on the Fiber Drink!  Looking forward to bootcamp in the morning.  It's going to be cold!!!

Woke up at 7am and took O2 Gold Advanced and had a Mandarin Orange Spark.  The O2 Gold was in prep for my run.  I also took my Probiotic Restore
7:45am - Pro20 - 3 oz Protein Shot and 3 Catalyst
8:00am - went for a 3 mile run, took just under 30 mins
8:45am - Chocolate Mocha Meal Replacement Shake and 2 Omegaplex
10:45am - Almonds and Water
12:45pm - Lunch - 2 Rice cakes with Natural Peanut Butter and a banana
4:00pm - Citrus Spark and 3 Catalyst
4:45pm - Turkey Chili - Homemade by Shana and some tiny dill pickles
7:15pm - Half of the new Holiday AdvoBar

It was a cool morning when I ran.  Normally I would have been wheezy and would have really felt it in my chest.  I felt great through the whole run.  I really like the combination of O2 Gold and Pro20.

Well I stepped on the scale this morning and I am down 5lbs thru 5 days!

Dinner - Mini Mexican Tacos at Blue Goose.  Pork Chicken and Steak on Mini Corn Tortillas.  I did eat a few chips but very few in comparison to a normal trip to Blue Goose.

Stayed up very late last night watching the Rangers :(, which caused me to miss bootcamp this morning.  I got up and then fell asleep in the living room chair....must go to sleep earlier.

Lunch - Busy Day on the nun so I had the NEW Orange Cream Meal Replacement Shake This is a limited time Holiday Product.  I was not sure if I would like it but it was GREAT!
Mid Afternoon Snack - 3 Catalyst and a Citrus Spark, I then had 1/2 of the NEW Gingerbread AdvoBar.  This is another great NEW Holiday Product.  It is a little off the plan but I had to try it.  AWESOME!!! I'll be ordering more of these.
Dinner - Steak, Spinach Salad and Corn followed by 2 Omegaplex
Before Bed I will take the Herbal Cleanse Tablets.

Day 1 Log

Woke up at 5:00am and had 3 Catalyst and my SparkHydrate - Fruit Punch Spark and Fruit Punch Rehydrate.

Great Bootcamp with my neighbors!  We ran a mile, had an ab party and did a strong series of exercises, jumping jacks, speed squats, pushups, burpees....

Started the morning with the Citrus Fiber Drink!  We figured it out.  Drink it with 4-5ozs of water like a shot and chase with a couple glasses of water!

Breakfast - Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake - 2 Omegaplex

Mid Morning Snack - Peanuts and Grapes - Water and more water!

Lunch - Crazy day on the run so to save money I had a Vanilla Meal Replacement Shake.

24 Day Challenge #4

Today is Day 1 of our 4th 24 Day Challenge.  Since we started I have lost 50 lbs and Shana has lost 25 lbs. We have made a huge change in our daily choices and we have developed new habits.  The 24 Day Challenge is a game changer.  In my mind it is not a diet but a change in how we operate.  It is superior nutrition and it teaches you the right way to eat.

I did not blog my 3rd challenge but I am going to blog this time.  My original goal was to lose 60 lbs.  I am almost there but the last 10 are a little more difficult than the first 50.  I am confident I will meet my goal.  With the help of my lovely wife and the support of my friends nothing will stop me.  And just for the record, if you think you can't get out and run or participate in a bootcamp, think again.  I started slowly doing Wi Fit just stepping and light workouts.  Now I can run 3-4 miles and participate in an AWESOME bootcamp 3 mornings per week.  If I can do it, YOU CAN TOO!!!!

In summary from January to August I lost a total of 24.25" and 47 lbs.  I am down to 199 lbs!  I am now wearing large shirts and size 34 pants.  I am now able to run 3 miles and participate in a 3 day a week bootcamp!  What an amazing change!  I am enjoying eating a burger or wings but I am now a balanced eater.  I was even able to go on vacation, eat as I pleased and within 4 days back I lost what I had gained.  Hint:  Don't weigh for a few days when you come back from vacation and get back to eating and exercising!

Day 20 Update Drum Roll Please!!!!!

Well I want to share another goal that has been hit.  Yesterday I weighed in at 199 lbs.  That is a total of 47 lbs lost!  Getting under 200 lbs has been part of my goal on my way to the end goal of losing 60 lbs.  It feels GREAT!

This week I saw someone I had not seen in 10 - 12 months.  He commented that I looked like a "heart attack waiting to happen" last year.  He was pretty shocked by my transformation.  As I have said, if I can do this so can YOU!!

Day 8 on the 24 DC

Loving Challenge #3.  I have talked to several people have asked about the eating plan trying to understand how it can be done.  I thought I would share real quick how this week went for me.  This past week I ate at the following restaurants.

Day 7 Update

Seven days in and another 4 lbs lost on my third 24 Day Challenge. That is a total of 44 lbs lost since January 8.

The Cleanse is great! I feel great and I am enjoying new foods.  If you want to shed a few lbs lets start with the Herbal Cleanse and the 24 Day Challenge.

Day 1

Started the Challenge today.  Updates will be a little different this time.

I am doing the Citrus Fiber Drink n the Herbal Cleanse this time.  I definitely like the Peaches and Creme best but the Citrus was not as bad as I remembered from the 1st challenge.

My goal is to lose 15 lbs this time.  I am really excited t do the challenge again.  This is another step to being healthy and fit.  I am so thankful to be ding this with Shana and excited that our friends and family are joining us.

Ready to Start 24 Day Challenge #3

Tomorrow I start my THIRD 24 Day Challenge.  I have been ready to start the cleanse since last week.  The neat thing about the 24 Day Challenge is while it is helping me lose a bunch of weight it is so much more than a weight loss program.  Since the end of my last challenge I have been able to eat  a normal diet, my new normal and I have maintained my weight.  At the end of the last challenge I weighed in at 207 lbs.  Today I am at 206 lbs.

I have completely changed how I operate and because of that I can still enjoy all the foods that I love.  My goal on this challenge is to lose 15 lbs and get under the 200lb mark.  I am excited to start the Herbal Cleanse tomorrow.

Now That's Progress!

A New Life

It's been a week or so since I have blogged and I miss the exchange here and sharing my updates with you.  I am down 40+ lbs.  I have learned to not get on the scale everyday as my weight loss is a healthy consistent decline.  

The last week or so I have reserved the right to eat a burger or two and indulge at Sauced.  I have balanced that with better decisions and I use both Fibo-Trim and Carb-Ease when necessary.  I am staying consistent on the MNS 3, Meal Replacement Shakes, Catalyst, and Spark.  I also use the Chocolate Peanut Butter Meal Replacement Bars for lunch on the run.  I am 2/3 of the may to my goal.  I will start my next challenge on July 1 and I plan to reach my goal by the end of the challenge.  It amazes me that I am dropping 8-10 lbs per month and completely changing how I operate.  I am excited and loving life.

Lean in 13 - Report

Well the second week of Lean in 13 was crazy for me.  I did not stick to the diet and my workouts were inconsistent.  BUT the Products and Routine are GREAT.  I like the Muscle Gain Shake.

The takeaway for me is this:  We have a routine for everyone!  The Lean in 13 is likely best suited for the athlete or the person that is looking to trim up and tone but does not need to lose a bunch of weight.  I was pleasantly surprised how I responded to the routine.  I lost 5 lbs in the first week and at the end I feel slimmer and I have a ton of energy.  I am now down 42 lbs!

Lean in 13 Days 5 and 6

Friday was Day 5 of Lean in 13 and it was a different day for us.  We had an all day meeting about the adoption process and our food choices were limited.  I also may have not made the best decisions.  But we made the best of it.

Day 5
Woke up and had a Spark and 3 Catalyst

Day 6
Woke up and had a Spark and 3 Catalyst

Day 5 had it's consequences but on the morning of Day 7 I am back where I was on Day 3.  I like the Lean in 13 program but I will admit it is not for everyone.  I think it is a good thing to do every once in awhile to trim and tone but as for a regular routine it is less calories than most people need.

7:00pm - Softball game #1 - Had a Rehydrate after the game....joined the team at Buffalo Wild Wings in between games and only drank water.  The wings smelled good but they are iny compared to Sauced.
9:30pm - 3 Catalyst
10:pm - Softball Game #2

Needed a better workout but subbing in at the softball game was fun.  Gotta get some sleep!

Lean in 13 Days 1 - 3

I had a request to document the Lean in 13 like I have done with the 24 Day Challenge.  The following is a recap of the first 3 Days.  The Lean in 13 incorporates MNS, Catalyst, Thermoplus, Meal Replacement Shakes, Muscle Gain Shakes, and Omegaplex.  The eating plan is similar to South Beach.  If anyone is doing the 24 Day Challenge they can complete the lean in 13 during the Max Phase.  This is a great program for those that are trying to trim and tome.

Interval training for 15 minutes on Eliptical, 100 Crunches, 100 fly's with 5lb barbells

Walked 2.25 miles in 34 minutes

Days 1-3 are called burn days.  Day 4 will be a Refuel day and we will add a snack that will include fruit.  I thought this would be very difficult but I am enjoying this.


Lean in 13 Day 3 Update

We are just about done with Day 3 of the Lean in 13.  Monday I started at 209 and I am now down to 205!  I am really starting to fill slim!  I feel great working out, walking and taking the great products!

I am taking MNS E,this is the Metabollic Nutritional System that focuses on Energy.  Knowing I would be eating less I wanted to make sure I had plenty of Energy.  I am also enjoying adding in the Muscle Gain Shake and of course I am taking Catalyst.

I also got results from my Physical from the doctor today.  I am so excited to see the doctor say the results were EXCELLENT!  It is good to know that I am doing as good as I feel.  I feel like a new person.  In January I was just under 250lbs and now I am almost down to do 200lbs.  Love my New Life.
