Wow! I don't know what happened but I guess we have been busy and I have been away from the computer enough to not blog.  As of Friday I was down to 206.9 which is down 40 lbs from Day 1 on January 8.  Since that I have been a little off the diet and am up a few pounds.  That is the beauty of this great adventure!  I have made a significant change in my routine that a couple days of not so great diet actually motivates me to get back on the horse and EAT HEALTHY.

I had a great Spinach Salad today at Corner Bakery!  Bet you never thought I would say that.

I have a physical scheduled for Wednesday where I am looking forward to seeing my doctors reaction.  I took my blood pressure again and it is great and I am on my way to getting under 200lbs!

If you want to lose some weight, gain energy, and take control of your health call me today.  We have an event Thursday night in Frisco and Sunday afternoon at our house!  We have had 4 friends join us this weekend!  Join us!

A Perspective on Life Change

I have been burdened to write the following post over the last week.  I started to write it last night but I am glad I waited as today's time at church and bible fellowship added a little extra seasoning to the marinade.  In this post I want to discuss life change in two important areas yet I want to be clear on the order and importance of the two.  The two areas are Spiritual and Physical.

I recently made a change in my health, starting  my first 24 day challenge in early January.  Since then, I have been so excited to share my success and the products with everyone I know and even with strangers.  I have been convicted that this excitement and energy should carry over to the best life change offered to anyone.

Spiritual Change
As a Christian, my life has been changed by a gracious and loving Savior.  I am a sinner and on my own merits I do  not deserve to be saved by His Grace.  But God sent His only Son to this earth to die for my sins and therefore if ANYONE believes in Him they too can receive His free gift of everlasting life.  Wow, what a goldmine that is.  I keep hearing this verse in my spirit this week:

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23

Today at church we saw several baptisms and the people being baptized gave such a strong answer to the question have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.  It was awesome to hear the excitement and conviction in their response.  We are called to share the Good News with a world that so desperately needs to hear the message that God loves them and that they can have a relationship with Him.  This is a calling that too often we as Christians take lightly and maybe even take for granted.

My prayer is that I will always have a passion to share this message with the world around me and that people will see His love through me.

Physical Change
The change in my health has been awesome.  Losing 30+ lbs since January has me very excited and I feel like I have a new lease on life.  I am also developing eating habits that I have resisted my entire life.  It is almost as if there is a new me.  My eyes are now open to the unhealthy habits in my life and I am more keenly aware of the unhealthy culture we live in.  We went to the zoo over Spring Break and knowing that despite losing the weight I had lost I was still obese, I realized that the majority of people at the zoo were not only obese, but morbidly obese.  This really made me think about our culture and the large amounts of fast food and sugar that we consume.

The byproduct of our American diet and lack of exercise is having an obese population.  An obese population is an unhealthy one and contributes to heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney and liver ailments and more.  Losing weight has made me also realize that eating right and exercising is a matter of stewardship.  I can better accomplish my tasks as a christian, a husband, a father, and an employee because I have more energy and focus.  We has a people can do better and must determine to make better decisions in what we eat and how we live.  We only have one body and how we feed our body and train our body has a direct correlation on our overall effectiveness.

If you have read this whole thing I hope it has been meaningful to you.  I am burdened to share both these aspects of life change with those that need it.  If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus then please give me a call and I will set aside time to meet with you and share what a relationship with Christ is all about.  If you are a Christian but have never been fired up to spread the Gospel to others and now you think you need to rededicate your life to Christ and pursue a real relationship then let's talk.  Maybe you are a Christian but life has you running in circles and your health is out of whack, call me and we can discuss a program to help you get healthy and fit.

I am so thankful for the gift of life and the each of you.  Our lives are not meant to be lived alone and it is the friends that me make and the relationships we develop that give us the opportunity to share the love that Jesus has for us with each other.

Spark Energy Drink

AdvoCare Spark® Energy Drink
Vitamin & Amino Acid Supplement
KEY BENEFITS:

  • Enhances mental energy and focus*
  • Provides support for long-lasting energy*

  • 21 vitamins, minerals and nutrients
  • Sugar-free and only 45 calories
  • Helps reduce free radicals*

IS THIS YOU?

  • Someone who has trouble waking up or feels "energy slumps" throughout the day
  • Someone who can’t work up enough energy to live life the way you want
  • Someone who is looking for a more nutritious alternative to coffee, soda or other energy drinks

THE ISSUE:
In today’s fast-paced environment, it doesn’t take much to cause your body and your mind to simply run out of steam. When you’re low on energy, usually every facet of your life suffers to some degree. Low-energy levels are often precursors to poor weight management, increased mental and physical stress, and much more. Most of us don’t eat like we should or exercise enough – many times because we are too tired at the end of the day to dedicate 30 minutes or more to exercise. Furthermore, we often look to popular choices like soda and coffee drinks as a quick source of energy, though they are often high in sugar and calories. And even though they might provide the quick bolt of energy we’re looking for, it disappears just as quickly, usually lasting no more than 30 minutes. Experience shows that when you increase your energy, you’re often more likely to improve your overall health. For peak performance and vibrant health, we need sustained and focused energy. Poor diets, lack of physical activity and the demands of our everyday lifestyle can drain our energy, promote weight gain and lead to a variety of negative physical conditions. What we need is an energy drink that is quick to respond, long lasting, and not full of sugar and calories.

THE SOLUTION: AdvoCare Spark®
AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink is a unique multi-nutrient system that was developed as a nutritional source of energy and enhanced mental focus.* It’s a sugar-free drink mix that has more than 20 vitamins, minerals and nutrients that work synergistically to provide a healthy, balanced and effective source of energy that won’t overburden or overstimulate your body like other energy drinks on the market.* This amazing product serves as an all-in-one solution that gives you a quick boost of energy that lasts for hours.* With six refreshing flavors (Mango Strawberry, Pink Lemonade, Grape, Mandarin Orange, Fruit Punch, Cherry and Citrus), you’re sure to find one that’s perfect for you. And the best part? Only 45 calories in each serving!
Ingredients in AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink contribute to supporting sustained energy or mental focus in several ways.*
For a quick boost of energy*: AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink contains an effective amount of caffeine to give you the quick boost you’re looking for.* Caffeine supports the processes in the central nervous system and muscles that enhance mental energy and focus in a relatively short amount of time.* The amino acid taurine helps provide the fast-acting energy you need that won’t overstimulate or overburden your body.*
For long-lasting energy*: The B vitamins that are present in each serving of AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink
enhance your body’s natural ability to produce and sustain its own energy, leading to long-lasting benefits.* Since your body looks to carbohydrates, protein and fat as its primary sources of energy, it makes sense to enhance the metabolism of each for optimal energy production. B vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-12 and vitamin B-6 all specifically contribute to the conversion of the foods we eat and the calories we store for energy.
For mental focus and clarity*: The neuroactive amino acids in AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink help increase
your mental focus and alertness by supporting your brain’s ability to receive and send messages to and from the nervous system.* For example, L-tyrosine an amino acid found in dietary proteins, is believed to improve mental energy and focus by serving as a precursor for specific neurotransmitters. Furthermore, the choline and GABA found in AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink are essential for nerve function, muscle control, memory and many other functions.* Together, the nutrients found in AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink provide the energy, mental focus and well-rounded nutrition that makes it the most effective energy drink on the market.*
