Day 24 - I've only just begun!

Today is Day 24.  While it is the end of my FIRST 24 Day Challenge it is only the beginning of the change in my health.
  • Woke up and had a Mandarin Orange Spark, 3 Catalyst, Thermoplus and the Yellow MNS Packet
  • Breakfast - Chocolate MRS
  • Snack - Grape Spark
  • 30 mins before lunch I had the second yellow MNS packet, 3 Catalyst, and Thermoplus
  • Lunch - Baked Chicken, Squash and Zucchini, Spinach Salad, Cherry tomato's, egg, fat free raspberry vinigarette, 2 White MNS Packs
  • Snack - Slim - 30 minutes later Almonds
  • Dinner - Barilla Whole Grain Spaghetti, Tomato Sauce, and 2oz of Chicken, 2 Omegaplex
Tomorrow I will continue with Spark, Meal Replacement Shakes, Slim, and MNS E.  I also will continue with Omegaplex and Catalyst.  In April I will do my second 24 Day Challenge and I hope YOU will join me.  If you are ready today I can get you started as Soon as You are READY.

Day 23

Woke up bright and early.  I love that I now wake up alert even if I do not get a full 8 hours of sleep.
  • First thing I had a Mandarin Orange SPARK, Thermoplus and the first Yellow MNS Packet
  • Breakfast - Chocolate MRS and 2 White MNS packets
  • 15 minutes before Workout I took Catalyst
  • Worked out for 40 minutes.  Went 2.5 miles on the treadmill and did 150 Crunches
  • AM Snack - Nuts and water
  • 30 Mins befor Lunch I took the 2nd Yellow MNS Packet
  • Lunch - 3 Scrambled Eggs with 1 Multi Grain Sandwich thin.
  • Snack - Fruit Punch SPARK, 30 minutes later I had another handful of nuts
  • Dinner - Baked Cod, Broccoli, Brown Rice, V8 Fusion Strawberry Banana, Water 2 Omegaplex
Tomorrow is day 24.  I will finish it up tomorrow and take measurements and weight on Wednesday Morning. I am looking forward to trying MNS E and continuing to shed these LB's.

Day 22


  • Woke up and took the Yellow MNS Packet, 3 Catalyst and Thermoplus.  Instead of a Spark I had a SLIM.
  • Breakfast - Chocolate MRS and 2 White MNS packets.
  • Snack - Cherry Spark and 30 minutes later I had a V8 fusion
  • Lunch - Went to Subway and had a Cheesy Chicken Chipotle on flatbread with pickles and light mayo, apples and water...I had the footlong
  • Snack - Slim
  • Dinner - 2 Rice Cakes with Natural Peanut Butter and a few nuts, water

2 More Days.  Need to bring it home strong!  And then I start the next phase.  Plan is to try the MNS E system and continue on the Meal Replacement Shakes, Spark, Thermoplus, and Catalyst.  Headed towards losing 50 lbs!

Day 21

Slept in this morning.
Had a Spark, First Gold MNS packet, 3 Catalyst, Thermoplus about 9am
Breakfast - Had a Chocolate MRS, forgot about the MNS packets, will take at lunch
Did not have a morning Snack
Went to Cardio Tennis for an Hour at PGA Superstore - Great Exercise
30 minutes before lunch took 2nd Gold MNS Packet, 3 Catalyst, and Thermoplus
Lunch - Had 3 fried eggs (no butter) and one Whole Grain sandwich thin.
Snack - Changed things up and tried a SLIM and a rice cake with natural peanut butter
*I really liked the slim and I could feel the energy and appetite control.
Dinner - Chicken Stir Fry - Chicken, Brown Rice, Carrots, and Broccoli - 2 Omegaplex

Day 20 Update


  • Woke up and took the Gold MNS Packet, 3 Catalyst, Thermoplus and Mandarin Orange Spark
  • Breakfast - 2 White MNS Packets and a Chocolate MRS.
  • Workout - Did 30+ minutes on Wii Fit - Good workout!  I am not good at the soccer header drill!  Need better balance and it may take some practice.
  • Snack - Advocare Double Chocolate Snack Bar, Water
  • Lunch - Busy day caused me to have to move a meeting to a lunch meeting.  30 minutes prior to luch I had the other yellow MNS packet, Thermoplus and 3 Catalyst.  Had Chicken Tacos at Twisted Tortilla.  Corn tortilla's, black beans and corn. Water
  • Snack - Tried the Fruit Punck SLAM.  Next time I will chill it before drinking.  It was good but it had been sitting in the sun in the car.
  • Dinner - Went to Blue Goose with Family.  I wondered how I would be able to stick to the meal plan here as I always get the cheesiest items at Blue Goose.  I ordered the Mini Tacos off the appetizer menu.      It was 2 chicken, 2 steak, and 2 carnitas tacos with cilantro on corn tortillas.  I did eat a few tortilla chips, and I did eat too many.  I learned that I need to leave the table or have the chips removed to keep from overeating.

Day 19


  • Woke up and Had a Mandarin Orange Spark, The Gold MNS packet, 3 Catalyst, Thermoplus
  • Breakfast - Chocolate MRS, 2 White MNS packets
  • Snack - Almonds and Pecans, Water
  • 30 minutes before lunch - Yellow MNS Packet
  • Lunch - Roast, turnips(I got tricked, I thought they were potatoes) 2 Omegaplex
  • Snack - Spark Fruit Punch
  • Worked Out at Prestonwood Gym - 3 miles on the eliptical, 100 Crunches.  Followed workout with Mango Strawberry Rehydrate
  • Dinner - Chicken Stir Fry - Chicken, Brown Rice, Carrots, Broccoli, a little bit of egg, and a small amount of olive oil.
Another good day.  I got a little tired this afternoon and I attribute that to staying up too late the last few nights. Sleep is so important and I am realizing more how it affects my production and my health.

Day 18

  • Breakfast - 3 scrambled eggs, 1 whole grain sandwich thin 2 white MNS Packets, 2 Omegaplex
  • Snack - Advocare double chocolate snack bar
  • Lunch - Spinach, tomatoes, raspberry vinigarette, boiled egg, ham. Beef Vegetable Soup, water I took the other Gold Packet that I was supposed to eat 30 mins before lunch at the end of my meal along           with 3 Catalyst and Thermoplus.
  • Snack - Spark, Kashi Trail mix granola bar
  • Dinner - Basalmic Vinegar Pork Chops, Dry Baked Potato, Fresh Green Beans, 2 Omegaplex I also had 1 Chocolate Chip cookie bar after dinner...had to splurge

Still feeling great and enjoying how I feel.

Day 16

Changed a few things up today, not too much, just a little.
  • Started the Morning with a Fruit Punch Spark, Gold MNS 3 Pack, and Water
  • For Breakfast I had a Meal Replacement Bar.  It is chocolate peanut butter and it was very good and very filling.  Had the 2 White MNS 3 Packets, Thermoplus and 3 Catalyst
  • Snack - Chobani Greek Yogurt - Black Cherry
  • 30 Minutes before Lunch  - MNS 3 Packet and 3 Catalyst
  • Lunch - I went to my favorite place, Sauced Wings.  I love that I can diet and eat here.  I ordered 3 Grilled Tenders Dry, asked for the Dry Hickory Rub on the Side and the Sauteed Vegetables(Squash and Zucchini) with no butter.  I had a little of the Homemade Ranch but I had less than half of the small cup.  I usually consume 2 large servings of Ranch.  It was Great!
  • Snack - Fruit Punch Spark
  • Dinner - Chicken Tacos on Corn Tortillas, with a few Tortilla Chips and Water
Attended a GREAT mixer at the home of Todd and Donna Cash.  We had a great turnout and Donna's famous Spark Icee.  Had a great time tonight.  Looking forward to a new day tomorrow!

Day 15 Update


Today Starts the third week of my 24 Day Challenge.  I am feeling great and I am learning that I can make good choices.  A friend and I were talking today and we were commenting that we can feel a difference with 10+ pounds lost.  On my way to losing 50+ pounds.

  • Snack - Did not eat a snack today while at church
  • Lunch -Had an early lunch, took the other MNS pack 30 minutes prior to lunch.  Then I had a pulled pork sandwich on Multi Grain Sandwich Thins 3 catalyst.
  • Snack - SPARK - Fruit Punch and Double Chocolate Snack Bar
  • Dinner - Chicken Enchilada Soup and 2 Omegaplex

Day 14

  • Lunch - I am at Success School and forgot to take my MNS packet. Will have to take at dinner. Had a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat bread, an apple and water. 3 catalyst.
  • Snack - SPARK - Fruit Punch
  • Dinner - Splurged with the Team and went to PF Chang's in downtown Fort Worth. Had Mongolian Beef with Brown Rice.  My team had to order for me since I was still at Doc Talk....My friend Daisy ordered Chicken in a black bean sauce, not the same as Tex-mex beans.  It was good and a healthier option.  I ended up taking the Pre-Lunch MNS packet with my dinner as I forgot to take 30 minutes prior.  I need to start setting alarms in my phone.

Day 13 Update - Success School

Wow What a Day!  I just got home from Success School in Fort Worth.  Had a great time, learned about new products and heard some great testimonials.  I am having to use my old laptop since I spilled water over my other one but no worries.  Today was a little hectic but here is what I had to eat.

  • Was so busy I forgot to have my morning snack

  • I ate an early Lunch with Ethan at School.  I stopped by the New Twisted Tortilla and ordered a burrito on a Whole Wheat Tortilla with Chicken, Black Beans, Rice, and corn.  They tried to serve it with chips twice and I told them to keep the chips.  To some of you that is not a big deal but to me that is a monumental change.

  • Dinner - on the run on the way to Fort Worth. Stopped at Chik-Fil-A and got a Grilled Chicken Sandwich on the whole wheat bun with a fruit cup and water - followed by 2 Omegaplex

Day 12 Log - Halfway Home!

Well, today marks the halfway point of My 24 Day Challenge.  This is a true lifestyle change.  I could go on and on but I am really enjoying how I feel and I know I am already healthier.  I have not taken blood pressure medication in over a week.  I am also very encouraged that I am able to make good choices while eating out.

  • Started the day with Mandarin Orange SPARK and the first Color MNS Packet, 3 Catalyst, and Thermoplus
  • Breakfast - Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake and both White MNS Packets
  • Workout - Ran on treadmill at 5MPH for 20 minutes, worked out Chest and shoulders with free weights and did a bunch of crunches!  
  • Snack - Advocare Double Chocolate Snack Bar
  • 30 minutes before lunch I took the 2nd Color MNS Packet, 3 Catalyst, and Thermoplus
  • Lunch was on the run today.  I stopped by Chipotle and had Tacos - Corn Tortillas, Chicken, Black Beans, and Brown Rice
  • Snack - Fruit Punch SPARK, Mixed Nuts
  • Dinner - went to Chili's with family - Ordered off the Healthy Portions part of the Menu and had Sirloin and Steamed Broccoli, water followed by 2 Omegaplex

  • Lunch - I had a lunch meeting at Cowboy Chicken - Had the Grilled Chicken with Campfire Veggies and Green Beans
  • Snack - Fruit Punch Spark followed 30 minutes later with mixed nuts
  • Dinner - Lean Steak, Green Beans, Carrots, and Corn, 2 Omegaplex
Drank water all day so I should have gotten at least 4 Liters down.  Looking forward to tomorrow!

Day 8 Log

Ready to start week 2 of the challenge.  Today was a Sunday and we had a 12:30 soccer game so we ate a late lunch.  Started back on the Fiber drink again.  With a little no sugar added Cranberry juice I am all set.  If you struggle with the fiber drink add more water or try cranberry or orange juice.

  • Fiber Drink followed by 2 glasses of water

Day 7 Log

Today we finish the first week of the 24 day challenge.  It has been a great week.  I have not craved cokes, chips, and the fried stuff I usually eat.  I have lost 8 LBS!!!!  I had to weigh.  Bottom line is I FEEL GREAT!

Today I may have ventured off the reservation a little bit but not too much.

  • Woke up and had Probiotic Restore, 3 Catalyst and a Fruit Punch SPARK
  • Breakfast - Chocolate MRS 
  • Snack - Banana and water
  • Workout - went to the gym and ran 2 miles and did 100 crunches
  • Lunch - I went to Sauced Wings n More - My favorite restaurant.  I had grilled chicken strips, sauteed squash and zucchini without the butter and oil, and I brought some lettuce and Walden's No Fat Ranch Dressing.  I did take a few bites of the appetizer my family had.  I had a few pieces of Chicken Wing meat with a little ranch.  I also took my Omegaplex. 
  • Snack - SPARK, followed by almonds and water 
  • Dinner - Chicken Tacos with No tortilla, Brown Rice, Omegaplex and water...I did have a few chips.
Overall this was a remarkable week!  I cannot believe the energy I have and the cravings that I have not had.  I have not missed the sodas and the chips and popcorn.  I am eating things that I have resisted for 34 years.  I have found a way I will eat salad, I am making good choices going out to eat.  I am on a diet and I have eaten out at 4 different places this week and I have been able to stay consistent.

Day 6 Log

Woke up and started with Fruit Punch SPARK,  3 Catalyst, Probiotic Restore, Water
Breakfast - Berry MRS
Snack - 2 scrambled eggs, Water
Lunch - Chocolate MRS and a few nuts
Snack - Fruit Punch Spark, Water, Rice Cake with Natural Peanut Butter, I had 2
Dinner - Went to Outback Steakhouse!  Had 6 oz Sirloin, Grilled Shrimp, Broccoli, and Green Beans, Water. 3 Catalyst and 2 Omegaplex.  Passed up the bread that the waiter brought us.
Bedtime - Water and Herbal Cleanse Tablets

Day 5

I am amazed that while eating less I have so much energy.  Other diets are miserable but I am feeling great.

  • Woke up and had SPARK, 3 Catalyst, Probiotic Restore, Water
  • Breakfast - Chocolate MRS, 2 Omegaplex
  • Snack - Banana and a mandarin orange
  • Lunch - Beef Vegetable Soup, a handful of nuts
  • Snack - SPARK and 30 minutes later I had a rice cake with Natural Peanut Butter
  • Dinner - Grilled Chicken, Grilled Squash and Grilled Zucchini, mixed fruit, water, 2 Omegaplex
  • Bedtime - Water, Herbal Cleanse Tablets
Drinking lots of water and getting the most out of my day.  I had hoped to workout but work was busy today.  I have started to think what it would be like to have some wings and fries but I am determined to not only complete the challenge but change my life.  It feels so good to eat healthy and I know I will reach my weight loss goal this year!

Day 4

I love the energy I have in the morning.  I can get up and read my Bible without dozing off.  I even stayed up late last night and still got going at 6am...Being more productive!

  • First thing I had my SPARK and took ProBiotic
  • Breakfast had a Berry MRS, it was good but make sure when you hake the bottle that the white piece on top clicks firmly.  My finger slipped off of it and I was wearing the shake before I got to drink it.
  • Snack - Nuts and a mandarin orange
  • Lunch - Salad with Chicken, Pecans, and Ken's Fat Free Raspberry Pecan Dressing (won't have that again as it has corn syrup in it. Water
  • Snack - SPARK, Catalyst and a banana
  • Dinner - Grilled Chicken, Grilled Squash and Zucchini, Mixed Fruit(Strawberries, Grapes, Bananas)
  • Bedtime Herbal Cleanse Tablets
4 Days down, 20 to go!

Day 3

Made it to day 3 and loving how I feel.  Got up while it was still dark ready to get going.
After delivering 2 boxes of Chocolate Meal Replacement Shakes, my first sales order, I headed to the gym to run 2 miles in 30 minutes and get in 100 crunches.  Six Pack Abs here I come.
  • AM Snack - Water and Nuts
  • Lunch - Met a friend at Chipotle, had a burrito bowl with BROWN RICE(New Item), Black Beans, Chicken, Salsa, and Lettuce.  Editorial comment - This is the first time I have put salsa and lettuce on anything at Chipotle.  I usually get the burrito with steak, extra rice, beans, sour crean and a bunch of cheese.  
  • Afternoon Snack - Took 3 Catalyst and Fruit Punch SPARK.  30 mins later I had a rice cake with Natural Peanut Butter on it.  Excellent snack.
  • For Dinner we had leftovers from yesterday -  Italian Chicken - Chicken, Tomatoes and Garlic!  Fresh Green Beans and Broccoli, 2 Omegaplex and Water
  • Bedtime - Herbal Cleanse Tablets
Talked with two friends and my dad today and I can really feel a difference as I am choosing to eat healthy foods.  I have not craved a soda and I usually have several a day.  Looking forward to a great day tomorrow.

Day 2 - PM Log

Having a great day!  I am very pleased with the energy and that I am eating healthy foods.
  • Lunch - Steak Salad with Walden Farms No Sugar Ranch - Lettuce, Tomatoes, Steak                    Took 2 Omegaplex
  • Snack - SPARK, WATER and 30 mins later 2 rice plain cakes
  • Dinner - Italian Chicken - Chicken, Tomatoes and Garlic!  This was delicious, homemade by Shana.  Definitely a recipe we will include in our list of recipes.  Fresh Green Beans and Broccoli, 2 Omegaplex and Water
  • Bedtime - Herbal Cleanse Tablets
Great Day!  We are working on a great menu for use during the challenge!

DAY 2 - AM LOG

Got up at 5:45am, and just for the record it has been awhile since I have got up that early.  I was ready to get up.
  • First thing I took my 3 Catalyst, had a SPARK (Fruit Punch), and a glass of water
  • 30 mins later I had the Herbal Cleanse Fiber Drink with water and about 4oz of Ocean Spray No Sugar Added Cranberry Juice.  It was great!  Much better than yesterday as it was not as thick.  Followed that with 2 cups of water.
  • For Breakfast I had the Vanilla Meal Replacement Shake(MRS).  It was good but Chocolate is still my favorite.  I also took 2 Omegaplex.
  • AM Snack - 2 small Mandarin Oranges
Shana and I took Ethan to school and went to the gym since it is raining.  Today I discovered the true benefit of SPARK.  I ran 2 miles in 30 minutes.  I have NEVER done that.  It was a GREAT workout and I still have energy.  I am ready to take on the day.  More later....

Day 1 - Here We Go!

It is Sunday, January 8, 2012 and Shana and I have started the 24 day challenge.  Here is what we did today.
Upon waking up we had a full glass of water, 3 Catalyst and I had a SPARK Energy Drink (Fruit Punch).
Followed that 30 minutes later with the Fiber Drink (Herbal Cleanse).
For Breakfast I had the Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake and Shana had the Berry.  I really liked the Chocolate.
Morning Snack we both had an Apple.
Sunday Lunch is our standard meal out.  We went to Cowboy Chicken.  I ordered the Grilled Chicken with Green Beans and Butternut Squash.  Shana ordered the 1/4 Chicken White(did not eat the skin) with Green Beans and Campfire Veggies.  GREAT MEAL.  Normally I would get 3 pieces of Dark Meat and a Double Helping of Twice Baked Mashed Potatoes.  I drank 4 glasses of water instead of 4 DrPepper's.  We took the Omegaplex at lunch since I forgot it with Breakfast.
For the afternoon snack I started off with the Mandarin Orange SPARK.  Followed that up with some mixed nuts.
After some grocery runs to stock the fridge with the "RIGHT STUFF" Shana made a great Vegetable/Beef Soup. We also took 2 Omegaplex with dinner.  After Dinner, I had a few more mixed nuts for a snack.
I feel like I have been drinking WATER all day.  It is important to drink 4 liters of water during the cleanse.

First Day Takeaways
I LOVE SPARK!  Great taste and I had energy all day.
The Fiber drink was thick and not easy to drink quickly.  Tomorrow I plan to add some water to it and maybe a little pure Cranberry juice (NO SUGAR).  I also saw a suggestion to mix the fiber drink with the Meal Replacement Shake(MRS).
I am a BIG FAN of the Chocolate MRS.  I could drink that all the time.
I felt great after eating a HEALTHY lunch.  It was very rewarding as I ENJOYED eating a healthy meal, including things I NEVER would have ordered before.

I am very grateful that I have a partner to do this with.  Shana, my wife, is very thorough and we are helping each other make good choices.  The fresh soup she made tonight was GREAT.  Looking forward to a GREAT Day 2 tomorrow!

Get Ready!

This blog is for ME and for YOU!  Sunday, January 8, 2012 I will start the 24 Day Challenge that will transform my health.  Today I weigh 246lbs. I have high blood pressure, a fatty liver, and recently I have started having blood circulation issues in my hands.  I started the New Year off eating better but I believe the 24 Day Challenge will kick start my goal of losing 50lbs.  Join Me!  GET READY!  Greater Things are coming in 2012!
